The third annual Air Force Cyberspace Symposium (AFCS) took place June 16 – 18, 2009 at the Shreveport Convention Center.  Co-sponsored by AFCYBER (P), AFCEA (Arklatex Chapter), the Cyber Innovation Center (CIC) and Electronic Systems Center (ESC) this year’s theme was Collaboration In Cyberspace.  Over 650 attendees, representing the defense community (Air Force, Army, Navy), the Dept. of Energy, the Dept. of Homeland Security, the National Security Agency, law enforcement community and the nations of Georgia and Estonia, private industry and academia joined together to discuss cyberspace and the synergistic approach that must be taken to ensure national security.

The CIC invests time, energy and resources into events such as the AFCS and Cyber Awareness Summit (CAS) because of the long-term value of bringing together subject matter experts dedicated to securing cyberspace.  By collaborating in cyberspace, we are creating a sustainable pipeline of professionals and students who are prepared to face the short-term and long-term challenges facing our nation.  Thank you to all speakers, attendees and exhibitors for making the third annual AFCS a tremendous success!
