Topics: Pre-Med and Medical Careers, Careers in Environmental Science and The Red River Watershed, Biotechnology and the Electron Microscope, Organismal Biology (with a Field Trip to the Red River Education and Research Park), Forensic Entomology
Any high school student (entering grades 9 through 12) may register for any or all of these sessions. The fee is $20 per session. Pre-registration is required. Each of the four sessions will focus on one academic/career area and feature:
1. Representatives from local industries that hire graduates in that career area who will describe the career opportunities in that field and the nature of the work and the rewards associated with such careers, and
2. Faculty members at LSUS who will describe the academic area in general and give explorations into interesting subareas. They will also give the students an appreciation of what is required for success in the area in terms of aptitudes, interests, work loads and preparation.
