National Integrated Cyber Education Research Center

The mission of the Cyber Innovation Center’s National Integrated Cyber Education Research Center (NICERC) is to build a sustainable knowledge-based workforce that can support the needs of government, industry and academia.

Objectives of the CIC’s National Integrated Cyber Education Research Center:

  •  Emphasize Professional Development for K-12 Teachers
  • Take Formal & Informal Approaches
  • Incorporate Traditional and Non-Traditional Methods
  • Focus on the students across primary (K-8), secondary (9-12) and post-secondary levels.
  • Incorporate & Instill 21st Century Skills
  • Build Upon Existing STEM related initiatives

The programs offered through the NICERC provide a comprehensive solution that fosters systemic change throughout education.  The programs not only leverage previously funded, proven, and accepted education models (NSF ATE, NSF LATechSTEP, Cyber Discovery and NASA Threads) but it also empower teachers.  Teachers are a valuable resource and critical component in the development of future innovators, researchers, and technicians.   In order to support our educators, the NICERC offers extensive professional development opportunities in all its education initiatives while forming a diverse network of educators and administrators who support and mentor one another.
