·         Take Formal & Informal Approaches

·         Incorporate Traditional and Non-Traditional Methods

·         Focus on the students across primary (K-8), secondary (9-12) and post-secondary levels.

·         Incorporate & Instill 21st Century Skills

·         Build Upon Existing STEM related initiatives

The CIC’s Academic Outreach Program is a comprehensive solution that fosters systemic change throughout education.  The program not only leverages previously funded, proven, and accepted education models (NSF ATE, NSF TECH STEP, Cyber Discovery and NASA Threads) but it also empowers teachers.  Teachers are a valuable resource and critical component in the development of future innovators, researchers, and technicians.   In order to support our educators, the CIC offers extensive professional development opportunities in all its education initiatives while forming a diverse network of educators and administrators who support and mentor one another.
