CIC Cyber Education Initiatives

Education Advisory Council

The mission of the Cyber Innovation Center's academic outreach program is to build a sustainable knowledge-based workforce that can support the needs of government, industry and academia.  To successfully fulfill its mission, the CIC will develop programs that take a formal and informal approach, incorporate traditional and non-traditional methods and focus on students across primary, secondary and post-secondary levels.

The Education Advisory Council was formed to

  • Guide the CIC in its educational initiatives;
  • Develop new programs / initiatives to further cyber education in our region and across the nation;
  • Assist in the implementation of pilot programs in our area; and,
  • Provide connections to other academic institutions that focus on cyber education.

The EdAC consists of knowledgeable and influential leaders in cyber education and training.  Council members represent higher education (2 and 4 yr institutions), research institutions, government, and private industry.  Many members also have experience in curriculum / program development, professional development, and K-12 education.
