Cyber Information Technology - Bossier Parish Community College In response to the growing workforce demands, the CIC has worked with BPCC to develop five new associate degree programs. These programs include networking, web design, help desk support and system administration.

Cyber Academy – Louisiana Tech University In response to the growing workforce demands, the CIC is working with La Tech and Air Force Research Labs to develop a Cyber Academy. The Cyber Academy includes an integrated computer science, engineering and mathematics curriculum. Main components of the academy include “Living with the Lab,” summer internships, research projects, and special assignments. Students who complete this program will also have an opportunity to obtain the necessary security clearances for future work in the cyber field. Components of this course are already in place and being offered, and the full Cyber Academy is expected to be offered next school year.

Cisco Academy The CIC, with the help of its industry partner, have successfully stood up a Cisco Academy at Bossier Technical High School. A Cisco Academy has already been established at the Caddo Career & Technical High School. These academies will feed academies that have recently been established at Bossier Parish Community College and Northwestern State University.

Dell TechKNOW Program The CIC, with its industry partners, is establishing the Dell TechKNOW program at area high schools. This program provides students with 40 hours of technical help desk support training. Through this program students will learn basic computer maintenance skills. The CIC plans to have “graduates” of this program provide technical support for their individual schools.

Industry Certifications The CIC is working with its education and industry partners to incorporate nationally recognized industry certifications into its academic outreach program initiatives. Examples are the CNSS 4011-4016, CompTIA, A+, Cisco, Microsoft, etc. |
