CISA-led organization hosts national conference in Rosemont, Illinois, June 16-18, to equip educators, administrators, and counselors with the skills to deliver K–12 cyber education in collaboration with public and private sector partners.
BOSSIER CITY, La.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Today, CYBER.ORG – the academic initiative of the Cyber Innovation Center funded in part through the Cybersecurity Education and Training Assistance Program (CETAP) grant under the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) – announced it’s hosting CYBER.ORG EdCon 25 at the Loews Chicago O’Hare Hotel in Rosemont, Illinois, from June 16-18.
Backed by leading industry partners, CYBER.ORG EdCon 25 is the premier conference to connect like-minded educators with the skills and resources to expand K-12 cybersecurity education and inspire the next generation of cybersecurity professionals to enter the field.
In response to a critical national shortage of over 457,000 cybersecurity professionals, a surge in cyberattacks on critical infrastructure, and growing global competition in cyber capabilities, the organization is taking action. CYBER.ORG is equipping educators with the tools and skills needed to develop the next generation of cybersecurity professionals in an era shaped by emerging technologies and AI.
CYBER.ORG EdCon 25 provides attendees with an opportunity to:

“EdCon is a game-changer for educators who want to make a real impact in cybersecurity education,” said Lisa Schwartz, Regional Educational Technology Coordinator for the Learning Technology Center. “The practical resources shared here empower teachers to not only build their own skills, but also to inspire the next generation of student leaders in this critical field.”
As the demand for cybersecurity professionals continues to grow, equipping educators with the right tools and training has never been more critical. CYBER.ORG is grateful for partners like the Learning Technology Center, whose dedication to meaningful professional development and seamless integration of digital learning and technology in classrooms is shaping the future of education.
“The need to build a strong, homegrown workforce has never been greater. EdCon transcends just a learning experience; it’s a catalyst for change. By empowering educators with the tools, knowledge, and inspiration they need, we’re setting the stage for the next generation of cybersecurity leaders,” said Dr. Laurie Salvail, Executive Director of CYBER.ORG. “But we can't do it alone. Strong industry partnerships are essential to bridge the gap between education and real-world needs, ensuring we develop a workforce that’s both skilled and ready to tackle the challenges ahead,” said Dr. Salvail.
EdCon brings together educators, industry leaders, and government partners to align classroom learning with current cybersecurity demands. Through collaboration and innovation, CYBER.ORG is laying the groundwork for a resilient, future-ready cyber workforce.
