BOSSIER CITY, La. – Cyber Innovation Center works to develop a sustainable knowledge based workforce that can support the growing needs of government, industry, and academia. CIC and the National Cyber Research Park have shaped the economic landscape of northern Louisiana.

The opening of the CSRA Integrated Technology Center in Bossier City on Tuesday was lauded by Gov. John Bel Edwards as the result of a strong community partnership and the foundation for a bright future in the area.

If you build it, they will come. And if all the buildings going up are any indication, Bossier City officials say the people are coming.

Bossier City and Bossier Parish are expected to experience a boom in population over the next few years, and administrators believe strong law enforcement, good schools and a reputation for being progressive are all factors in that growth.

A $166.9 million contract awarded to CSRA by the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) will create about 35-40 new jobs in the near future at the company’s Integrated Technology Center in Bossier City and many more jobs will follow.

Last year, the Cyber Innovation Center (CIC) and Louisiana Tech University capitalized on their seven-year partnership to create the Louisiana Tech Research Institute (LTRI). The LTRI is a non-profit 501c3 corporation located at the National Cyber Research Park (NCRP) and currently operating out of the CIC.

When Bossier Schools begins the 2016-17 academic year, it will be all systems go as the district launches Project SOAR (Supporting Opportunities for Achievement and Resilience), a five-year academic and mental health initiative that will benefit more than 6,700 students attending 11 schools across the district.

A new CSRA Customer Engagement Center set to open in Bossier City is anticipated to bring 300 jobs to help resolve complaints from CSRA’s federal government customers. The Virginia-based company plans to fill at least 150 positions within the next 12 months and the remaining jobs by the two-year mark.
